Lone Graves, Wenatchee River - Benjamin Ingalls
(Douglas)
WA 98802
Benjamin Ingalls was an early prospector.  He was probably the first white death in Chelan County.  He was accidentally killed in 1861 walking between Cashmere and Dryden. A tree branch brushed against the hammer of the rifle of the person behind him and the gun discharged into Ingalls back.  The group decided to carried him down to the river - probably in hopes of meeting up with someone from the Hudson Bay Company.   Before they reached the mouth of the Wenatchee River, Mr. Ingalls had died and he was buried across the Columbia River in Douglas County.
