Anne's Sr. Class
Thursday,September 14th, 10:00 - 12:00, WAGS Library Reading Room
I am so happy about moving our monthly class to the WAGS library where we have access to many more resources and researchers! The plan is to focus on a particular resource or method each month followed by some research time that helps with individual problems and strategies! For September we are going to continue FamilySearch class 2 in depth with emphasis on records not Indexed, attaching records to the tree, and how to use the "Sore Spots". WAGS Members are welcome!

Beecher Hill House Tour
What better activity on a late-summer's day than touring a fascinating historical home in the Upper Valley?! Guided by current owners Jay and Cyndi Garza, we will get a look at the house that Sam Beecher built--once called "the grandest in the Upper Valley. " Sam (1873-1957) was a bigger-than-life character who wore many hats: stonemason, orchardist, mountain climber, irrigation pioneer. He owned the first automobile in the Upper Valley, partied with the likes of Sam Hill and the Queen of Romania (of Maryhill fame), and even spent 18 days in the Chelan County Jail. Join us and see some of Beecher's original furnishings, and appreciate the tasteful upgrades made by the present owners, to honor the past and continue Sam's legacy into the future.
Directions: Going up the valley, turn off of Highway 2 onto 97 South, as if you were going over Blewett Pass. Turn right on Blewett Cutoff Road and then left on Beecher Hill Road. The mansion is at 9991 Beecher Hill Road. A Google Map of the area is shown at the Beecher House website (beecherhill.com/directions/).
